TravelTrak consists of a number of integrated modules. Each module allows you to easily enter, manipulate or access your information. A detailed description of each module or group of modules follows:

Fuel Purchases – RV and Towed - There are 2 modules in TravelTrak used to record fuel purchases. One is for the RV or towing vehicle and the other for a towed vehicle. When you fill up, one of the first tasks is to record the current odometer reading. TravelTrak will remember your odometer reading from the previous fill. ( you have the option of entering trip distance rather than odometer readings if you prefer) Record the quantity of fuel pumped and the cost of that fuel. You can then enter either the total cost of the fill or the cost per gallon. TravelTrak calculates your miles per US gallon, miles per Imperial gallon, litres per 100 kilometers, cost per mile, and cost per kilometer. The cost of this fill is then automatically entered into the expense file for you. There is also a section where you can make a note regarding this fill eg.” I checked the oil”. To keep track of where fuel was purchased and the method of payment, there are drop-down selections that you can personalize. The towed vehicle fuel purchase entry is exactly the same.

Maintenance Data – The RV and the towed vehicle each have their own module for entering maintenance information. In these modules, you record the date, mileage (if appropriate), where the work was done, what work was done and, of course, how much it cost. As with fuel purchases, the costs are automatically added to the expense file.

Expense Tracking - There are 14 expense categories, all of which can be personalized. The first four are to track fuel and maintenance for the RV and for the vehicle being towed. The remaining 10 can be customized to track whichever expenses you choose. As in the rest of TravelTrak, US or Canadian currency can be used with one of the currency values being calculated automatically by TravelTrak.

US and Metric units - Since the average North American RVer travels both in the US and Canada, provision is made in TravelTrak to use both US and Canadian currency together with built-in automatic currency conversion. As an example, an American can travel in Canada, fill up in litres, pay for the fuel in Canadian dollars, record miles from his odometer and then let TravelTrak do all the conversions. He then knows how many miles per gallon he is getting and what the costs are in US dollars. Of course, the reverse is true for Canadians traveling in the USA.

Daily Diary – To make personal notes and keep a log of activities such as "where did we visit?","what did we do?", highlights and lowlights and in between. The Diary module is set up to make daily entry easy – you don’t have to use it daily of course. It allows you to enter as much or as little as you wish as often as you wish. The diary has a built-in search feature that allows you to look for anything, anywhere in the diary. It locates any and all records that contain the word or phrase being searched and displays them for you.

Address book - Who did we meet and where were they from? Their pets, personal comments, etc. There is even a separate entry line for type of RV! This file is searchable in the same way the diary is searchable. By using the tagging feature in the address book, you can print out address labels for contacts you select.

Reports for each category - View information on-screen for quick lookup or print out reports to keep for reference. Choose the dates you want to include and TravelTrak will print the report that includes total costs in each category as well as average costs per day. There is at least one report for each module with some modules having multiple reports.

Personalize your expense categories and default settings - You can personalize your copy of the program: You can add your name to the program so that it prints out on reports; you can create up to 10 expense categories; you decide what labels to use to identify your RV and vehicle on the reports and screens and you set the default currency exchange rate.

Backup your data - Data backup is as easy as clicking a button on the screen. You can send your valuable data to virtually any device in or connected to your computer. Retrieving backed up data is just as simple. By backing up on a regular basis you protect yourself from catastrophic loss of information. Back ups are also a way to archive your trips thus making it possible to clear information that is not current, while still allowing you to restore the data from previous trips if you want to check old information.

Browses and Lists - One of the very useful features of TravelTrak is the ability to browse through lists of your data records. When you first enter a module, a list of the records in that file is shown to you in such a way that you can browse down the list one record at a time or jump to the area of the list where your desired information is recorded. Most of these browse lists are sorted on more that one type of information; maybe by date or by name etc. By simply clicking on the tab at the top of the browse, the list appears in the desired sort order. You can then click on the record to view or even modify the details.

Help - This feature is just a click away! Unlike many Help screens, this is a user friendly tool which gives you immediate answers without the confusion of “computer jargon”. Just right-click on the item you need help with, and help appears.
